We hope to welcome you to the Church of God & True Holiness of Eastover and that you experience the holiness, love, forgiveness and grace revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. We celebrate the presence of the risen Lord in our community of faith, both when we gather for worship, Christian education, and fellowship, as well as when we follow God's calling to live out our faith in our community and around the world.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

By travelling to and from Eastover and Columbia so many times, I started paying attention to the many miles some of our church families and familiy have to travel week after week, month after month, year after year to be in the service. Some of them travel more than one hundred miles one way. The Lord put it on my heart to do something about it. So I started; we all started looking for a place to start a fourth Church of God & True Holiness for the Eastover/Columbia families. We looked and searched, we prayed, and we believed in our hearts that one day, we would find out where the Lord wanted this Church of God & True Holiness to be. As my wife and I were riding and looking around one day, we saw a place with a building. We thought that spot and building was in a good location for a church. We tried to contact the owner and failed, not knowing that some property right acress the road from where we were was where the Lord wanted the church to be. At that time, the property was not even up for sale.
As Brother Erwin was looking and following up with some real estate professionals, he met up with Mrs. Queen Gadson Linen working for Remax Advantage Group, Inc. We met her one afternoon. She had a list of churches and properties that were up for sale. She had us look at a large brick church in the city limits of Columbia. It was nice but it didn't work out. As we reviewed the list of properties that were up for sale, we recognized a one-acre log in Eastover on Garners Ferry Road. We had her to put in on hold as we went to follow up. As we arrived at this property, our eyes beheld that it was right across from the spot where we thought the church would be. I said in my heart "Thank You, Jesus!" I said aloud "Thank You, Lord!" The price was right.
After following up with the Headquarters brethren, we decided to purchase the property. We had a blessing ceremony, and after a few months, we contacted Hoovers Builders architect, John Watkins to construct the outside of the church. We decided we wanted a 40x90 congregation, with a kitchen, restrooms, bible lesson rooms, Pastor's study with restroom, etc. We pledged to use subcontractors and to do a lot of the work ourselves. Architect John Watkins drew up the plans. It was all approved and released for the building. After approximately three months, Hoover Builders started the church building. The did their part of the contract. We then started with installing the windows, day and night, night and day. The brethren came from other churches in large numbers to help us accomplish the church. The distance didn't get too far. It was in our hearts to receive this great blessing from the Lord!
Thanks be to all of you who shared in the workloads time after time. That helped us accomplish being here today. Thanks be to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who gives us the faith, the strength and the courage to build this fourth Church of God & True Holiness in the Eastover/Columbia area. Thank You, Lord.
Your Pastor and Overseer, Elder Nathaniel Gamble, Sr.
Dedication Date: December 26, 1999
To win Souls to the Faith and obedience of Jesus Christ by spreading the Gospel throughout the land using sound doctrine and glorifying Him that we shall not perish but come to repentance becoming perfect in the will of God.
Bishop Nathaniel Gamble Sr.
1944 - 2003
Under the leadership of Bishop Nathaniel Gamble, Sr., many spirit-filled services were held. His theme and vision for Eastover was taken from III John 1:2, "Beloved I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." Even upon his last days of being with us, he never allowed his condition to affect his belief and faith in God. His first order of business was always the well-being of the churches and church families. He had a commitment, and he saw to it that it was carried out. The Eastover Church of God & True Holiness lost its founding Bishop and overseer on September 15, 2003.
Deeply saddened by his death, the Church was determined to continue to carry out his vision. As it states in the book of Revelations 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven say unto me, write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors: and their works do follow them."

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! It is truly a great honor to be on the Lord's side. I thank him for life health and strength; and the drive to continue on in His will. It is a Great Joy to know Jesus Christ, and to have fellowship with Him. It is also great to be able to reach out to one another in times like these, when everyone needs a Savior and encouragement along the way. It is His will that no one perish, but have eternal life. For this cause, we continue on! "For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved".
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new."
